Leah Ames, COTA

Biography

Hello! My name is Leah and I am a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant here at Quotable Kids. I grew up in Wahpeton, ND and had a great childhood! From my childhood grew a love for travel and adventure.  As a family we would travel all over in our little trailer and had some of the best times of our lives, I got to see so much of the United States.  Fun fact about me, I have a twin brother. After high school I joined the North Dakota National Air Guard and left for basic training in San Antonio. When I came home I had the honor of becoming a nanny for a wonderful family in Fargo, which I still remain in contact with and get to see the kids often. After the kids moved on to preschool, I got accepted into the COTA program at NDSCS in Wahpeton and was so happy I found my passion. I completed my fieldwork at Altru  hospital in the pediatric therapy department and Glacial Ridge hospital in Glenwood, MN. I learned so much from both experiences and couldn’t wait to start my career as an OTA. After graduating the OTA program I got a job at Bethany Retirement in Fargo. Knowing I wanted a career in pediatrics I was always on the look out hoping I would find an opportunity to work with kids! I am so excited about starting my career at Quotable Kids because I love working with kids. Whether it’s as a babysitter, nanny, COTA or an aunt; I feel at home.
