Biography

Hello, My name is Ilse Clauson and I was born in El Paso, Texas. I am fluent in Spanish. I attended the University of North Dakota and graduated with a Master’s in Occupational Therapy. After graduation I moved to Idaho and began my career as an occupational therapist. In the past four years I have worked in hospital setting, skilled nursing facility, and outpatient pediatrics. In addition, I am an adjunct faculty member at Idaho State University. I am passionate about working with pediatric population, love my job, and love working with children and their families. I am always seeking out learning opportunities to enhance the tools and strategies I can use to maximize children’s independence with daily routines and ability engage in meaningful life activities.

My areas of interest within occupational therapy include autism, ADHD, sensory processing, feeding, and neurological disorders. I have completed SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) training with Dr. Kay Toomey. In addition, I have attended several sensory processing courses  address processing and motor skill deficits in children with various neurological conditions using an evidenced based approach.

I also have received training on reflex integration programming. Integration of reflexes is essential for neuro-development and ability to engage in life routines safely, efficiently, and effectively. Retained reflexes cause plethora of emotional, physical, and cognitive issues. In addition, I have experience providing occupational therapy services to children struggling with executive functioning deficits, autism, torticollis, genetic disorders, sensory processing disorders, muscular dystrophy, feeding difficulties, and children with gross/fine motor delays.

I am ecstatic to be apart of the quotable kids team and to serve the community of Grand Forks!
